CB radio troubles please help.

Alright so i found this cb radio in my dads old car(was in garage and everything) but when i turn it on i hear a clicking noise and when i try using it on channel 19 i get nothing and i live right next to a busy highway. Maybe its not transmitting?



Its a radioshack TRC 225



any help? thanks

Check its receiver part. Is that working perfectly?

Yes defect could be in receiver part or in the modular.
Because receiver receives the frequency which is then get demodulated and gives a wave signal as a input to speaker.

May be there would be some network (antina) problem if you don't get the proper network then problem arises...

Yes it might be due to the disturbance in transmission and receiving waves.

May be you are not getting enough transmission.There will lot of disturbance in receiving waves due to nearby highway...

This might be transmitter device problem or you should check its receiver and decoder as well because its too old.
